Principal Hotels

Edinburgh - This landmark building was fully refurbished and extended at ground floor to provide a new entrance and restaurant. Alterations were undertaken to the listed façade to reinstate it to its former glory and reverse decades of unsympathetic alteration. New routes were formed throughout the lower levels by forming openings through loadbearing internal structures to enhance the customer journey through the front of house zones.

Manchester - A total remodel of front of house facilities including change of use of internal spaces to form new wine and dining spaces together with new conference areas. Remapping the back of house strategy required formation of a new internal goods lift shaft to service refurbished and upgraded kitchen facilities. A new internal reception courtyard was formed from an existing vehicle delivery bay to enhance the customer journey from reception to room. The Principal Manchester has been shortlisted for a Preservation and Rejuvenation Award.

 

York - Internal alterations to the core loadbearing elements of this listed building to create a new reception area and new access to restaurants\bar and spa facilities. Hotel remained open and fully operational whilst extensive temporary works supported upper storeys during demolitions. A suspended terrace area was formed above the existing swimming pool to create a new external seating area alongside the hotel bar.
