To mark International Women in Engineering Day 2025, Federica, Susana and Francesca from our London office attended some events hosted by TfL’s Women’s Engineering Committee and Ground & Water both focusing on a vital challenge: not just attracting women into engineering, but creating an environment where they can thrive long-term.
A key issue raised was the significant drop in the number of women who remain in the profession between the ages of 35 and 40. It’s a reminder that true progress means supporting women throughout their careers, not just at the start!
From the conversations, one thing was clear: confidence, empathy, and community are essential to building strong, inclusive teams. Everyone’s path is different, and by opening doors for one another, we help shape a more resilient and diverse future for engineering.
Here’s to the women leading the way, and to those helping clear the path beside them.
