We provided structural and civil engineering design services for the new Boathouse and Activity Centre at Shiplake College, located on a prominent, but access-restricted, riverside site adjacent to the River Thames. The development was designed to support the College’s renowned rowing programme while also creating a high-quality multi-functional facility for a range of sporting and outdoor education activities.
The superstructure incorporated a steel-framed structure to provide flexibility for the building both in its current layout but also future provisions. Civil engineering works included site level coordination, drainage design and access infrastructure, ensuring the facility could operate effectively while responding to local environmental constraints.
