Mont de la Rocque, Jersey

A landmark development of high quality apartments on a prominent location, high above a picturesque harbour on the site of a former hotel. The building is cut into the steeply sloping site and consequently the foundation solution had to avoid excessive surcharge of the cliff edge below. In addition, the roots of two very significant trees had to be accommodated using cantilever concrete to follow the root profiles. A light concrete frame was designed to provide flexible internal spaces and provide for non-aligning party walls
