New science teaching block, as part of the ongoing improvement programme to the Wantage campus. The site was surrounded on all sides by a ‘live’ academy, so safe access for students and site deliveries, was the top priority. Small structural elements were a pre-requisite and a steel frame with metal decking was chosen as the preferred solution for the three storey building. Creative use was made of existing and proposed soft landscaping to attenuate and discharge the surface water which prevented an expensive discharge off-site.
